Key safes are designed to store either a single key or a bunch of keys (or other items) to primarily allow access to the homes of the elderly or infirm by carers of family members. Master and ASEC models have a code wheel lock, the Burton KeyGuard XL and Supra C500 feature push button combination locks.

The code wheel versions combination wheels need to be "scrambled" after closing to lock the unit - the push buttons automatically re-lock on closure.  On all models the combination can be easily and changed by the user as often as required.
